Papers have been sent back to you, so please let me know if you didn't receive yours.

Next week's workshop: update
Here's the revised plan for the next two weeks:
4/10: The syllabus asks that you bring a typed draft of your paper to class, but it would be even better if you could (1) send the paper to the rest of us a little ahead of time (even by the 9th). If that's not possible, please bring 4 copies to class so that we can all read and discuss them.
We'll also be talking about journal submissions on this day. Included topics:
--How to write a cover letter for a journal submission
--Finding the right journal and the MLA Directory of Periodicals
--Where to find calls for special issues
--What editors are looking for
--Readers' reports: types of forms, types of responses
--How to respond to a "revise and resubmit"
--Electronic submissions, bibliographic database software, and other technical matters
4/17: No class so that we can all attend the English Department's Awards Ceremony

Only two articles this week
Since we have so many smaller readings this week, and since Erika can't be there on Tuesday, we only need to read two articles this week: the Pizer one that Dave has posted and the Bender one that's already in the wiki.

Backup site
As you all must have noticed, the PBworks site was down all weekend, and you couldn't get to the readings.
I've set up a backup site here: http://www.wsu.edu/~campbelld/engl573/science/index.html; the password and username have been emailed to you.

More article titles available
The articles for our class up through March are now available on our wiki: http://engl573.pbworks.com . I've changed the table format a bit by removing the third column so that the "article expert" names appear right below the article title.
If you haven't signed up for an article for Tuesday yet, please go to the wiki and sign up for one.

I tried to post this to the wiki but I couldn't figure out how, so I will upload it to the blog. I found a very interesting article about the character of 44 and about Twain's later work. I have attached the article below.

Article links available on wiki
The articles for Tuesday are available on the wiki at http://engl573.pbworks.com. There's also an "open choice" slot for whoever would like to choose an article on Pudd'nhead Wilson or No. 44, The Mysterious Stranger for next time.
I'll be filling in the other slots soon.
